Zero-energy cabin, Point Roberts, Washington
Year: 2007-2010 Architect: Mark Ashby Architecture Size: 200 sq.ft. Budget: $20,000
Working within the self-imposed constraint of a 200 sq.ft. footprint, Panorama Drive House is a demonstration home in green, affordable design that utilizes the natural qualities of the site to maximum benefit. The building is oriented for optimal solar exposure in winter with self-shading and rain-water catchment provided by extended roof overhangs. Living space of the tiny footprint extends into the garden via an operable wall.
Innovative wall assemblies provide high-performance utilizing everyday construction materials.
